About us

We are a group of computational social scientists, physicists and climate scientists based in the UK and Italy.

• Max Falkenberg is a post-doctoral researcher based at City, University of London with a background working in complex systems.
• Madalina Sas is a Ph.D. student in complexity science at Imperial College London with a background in computer engineering and an interest in emergent phenomena.
• Alessandro Galeazzi is a Ph.D. student at the University of Brescia interested in human behavior on social media.
• Francesca Larosa is a post-doctoral researcher at University College London (UK) and a researcher at the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change in Venice (IT).
• Maddalena Torricelli is a post-doctoral researcher based at City, University of London with a background in computational social science and networks.
• Niccolò Di Marco is a Ph.D. student at the University of Florence working on complex systems and computational social science.
• Fabiana Zollo is an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics and Research Fellow in the Center for the Humanities & Social Change at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
• Walter Quattrociocchi is head of the of the Data and Complexity for Society Lab at Sapienza Università di Roma, where he is Associate Professor in Computer Science.
• Andrea Baronchelli is a Reader in Mathematics at City, University of London, and head of Economic Data Science at the Alan Turing Institute.

Prior to working on data science related to climate change information, our group has contributed to pioneering work on the spreading of misinformation online (article / media coverage), the Covid-19 infodemic (article / media coverage), climate adaptation (article), and the formation of social norms (article / media coverage).
